A really traumatic day of enameling so I'm not going to go into too much detail (nasty teacher, far too many students, not enough equipment or space).
Copper squares were cleaned up with scouring pads and pumice powder.
We enameled one side of 5 pieces with clear flux.
Fired for 30-90 seconds until an orange peel type texture was achieved.
We then enameled the other sides with black.
The techniques tried out were: - scrafitto (drawing patterns through the powder to reveal the colour underneath) - transfer (professionally printed with ceramic ink) - powder sprinkled through a template - cloisonne (wet powder packed into areas surrounded by fine silver wire)
