Project 3 - Spinner Seal Pendant
No you haven't read this wrong, we are doing project 2 & 3 round the wrong way.
Project Brief: "Utilising Computer Aided Design (CAD) you will experience the process of lost wax casting through a 3D printed medium. This print will be cast directly in your desired metal, providing knowledge which will enhance potential careers in the CAD field. You will create a double sided, spinning wax seal stamp, with a complimentary hand-crafted supporting loop. The completed piece can be worn as a necklace." I'll admit that my spinner pendant took the minimal amount of design work. My first ever attempt at CAD made me very nervous because of the tight schedule (2 days in the computer room to produce something ready for 3D printing – surely not possible). So I merely recreated my current business logo (and elements from it). It's a fairly childish design featuring the leaves I often include in my pieces. I have had 2 variations made into rubber stamps that I use to customise recycled jewellery boxes. |
