"Alien Orreries" - 19/05/2019 Ring Assembly

So with all my components built, etched and oxidised, I tackled the ring build first.
I fixed the little ball lantern gear on the central pivot by soldering on a jump ring.
I could then rivet the top wheel into place and bezel set a goldstone cabochon to cover the rivet.

I then riveted this structure onto the ring, with the bottom gear sandwiched in between.

This rivet was then fixed in place on the laser welder.  Unfortunately I ran out of time, so this weld needs a bit more tidying up.
There's a little bit of sticking, but I'm very pleased with the gear motion on this piece.
