08/12/2017 Fold Forming

Picture
In a very quick demonstration of a possible way to make a sail shape, Dauvit showed us fold forming.

A leaf shape is roughly cut out of sheet, and folded in half.
The fold is then extensively bashed with a hammer which stretches it to form a curve.
When prized open, the piece becomes a 3 dimensional "boat" shape.

With my craft fair stock running low this close to christmas, I immediately produced a pendant and earrings in silver, using this method.
