A whole day of training on the laser welder. As I'm at the World Skills competition from tomorrow, I had to make sure I was in the first group. Not a terribly relaxing way to spend my birthday.

First we practiced our aim by following a line marked on a steel sheet. Then we welded two pieces of wire together.
Our final challenge was to make Alan a "gift" from a box of bits. Much hilarity ensued.
