08/05/2018 -Riveting

Hooray.  I volunteered my spinner for Jo to  demonstrate riveting on, so that's one less thing for me to do.
Actually this didn't save me an awful lot of effort as I still had to spring the loop onto the spinner tubes and hold it all upright as she hammered a scriber into one side and a centre punch into the other, to flare each tube out simultaneously.
It was a bit fiddly as I didn't really have enough tube length to leave much room to maneuver with such a thick loop.  But we managed and it's not going anywhere.
Jo then showed us a handy tool she made herself.  A tube/rivet burnisher for the pendant motor (which I really could have done with for my feeble Batsford Prize entry).

Now it's assembled, it's time for the fun bit: trying it out with some proper sealing wax.
