Right at the start of this module, Dauvit gave us a prep talk which advised us to consider the possibility of adapting our bracelet links into other pieces of jewellery.
With this in mind, I ordered more links than were needed for the bracelet, so I could make a pendant and earrings.

A pendant was dead easy because the large link hole was perfect for hanging the piece from a bail (which I made in a matching style). Going back to my original design, I blanked off the top hole with a small rectangle of silver.
Using the same method of setting my baguette cut emeralds on the top of each bracelet link, I made a simple drop to hold a large rectangular amethyst.
To match the colour of the amethyst, I strung fluorite beads into a necklace and used the box clasp to finish it off (I couldn't bare to see a good finding left unused).

Earrings were a bit more tricky. The large link holes were much to big for simple earwires so I decided to use them as additional stone settings.
They would need bigger stones (5x3mm baguette) and I ordered pairs of topaz and citrine. I preferred the topaz, but whilst setting them, I lost one (it's in the carpet somewhere) so the finished pieces have yellow citrine and the synthetic sapphire I bought to practice on all those weeks ago.
Just for a change I also gave the earrings a brushed matt finish.

I also made the earwires myself with this nifty gadget that bends them exactly the same every time. I love this tool :-)
