Fine Jewellery Techniques (JEW4035)

16/05/2018 - Silver Brooch

The birds for this brooch were produced as part of my silver clay investigation in the Production Processes module.
I worry that the other brooch I made for that is a bit weak, so I made a textured back plate for this by rolling sheet silver through the mill with a cardboard coffee holder (my current favourite top tip).
I opted for a hook made from bent wire, rather than cut from sheet as before, and the half-drilled carnelian "berries" were glued on with epoxy.
