07/05/2019 Winchester Cathedral

The worst possible timing to have a week away, but I'm off to West Dean to take up my short course bursary.
​A short stop off at Winchester Cathedral en route.
There's some lovely silverwork in the Venerable Chapel.
I've been to a lot of cathedrals in my time, but the carving at Winchester is just on another level.
​I also popped in to see the Winchester Bible (I love a good medieval manuscript), and astonished the tour guide with my knowledge of lapis lazuli.
