Tussey Mussey Stand

18/11/2017

Antique tussey musseys often had an accompanying stand, allowing the brooch to double up as a small standard vase.
I definitely wanted to display the piece this way for assessment.

I made a simple three legged stand from brass wire.

Because the tussey mussey was quite top heavy, I should have offset the bottom ring so the brooch would have been forced into a "reclining" position.  As it is, it's liable to spin round, rather that stay facing forward.
