Having learnt about scoring and bending whilst making the brooch findings, and coming across a square ring mandrel in the workshop tool stash, I started wondering about different geometrical shapes and whether they'd make “good” rings (I guess by good, I mean comfortable, practical and attractive). Also in the back of my mind was the Ring of Silvianus (a gold roman ring believed to be the inspiration for Tolkien's One Ring) which I thought was octagonal, but is actually 10 sided. So I started simple and produced a hexagonal ring from copper sheet. Comments are closed.
